Performance Exhaust FAQs
What is included with each system?
Everything needed to complete the installation is included. Each system includes the mufflers, pipes, hangars, 304SS Polished Tips you choose and all of the necessary instructions and information for installation.
What performance increase will I get with my system?
Performance varies by the vehicle and system chosen. On average, CORSA systems will deliver a 3-5% increase in horsepower, though this may vary by vehicle. For example, our Corvette systems will see in average increase of 17-19 HP increases with the addition of our full cat-back system. In addition to HP increases, CORSA systems will dramatically increase free-air-flow, allowing your other performance modifications to achieve their full performance potential
What size pipe do you use?
Our systems are specifically designed for every vehicle make, model, type and even transmission to deliver the best sound, with no drone, and maximize performance. Larger pipe is not always best and we choose the diameter pipe that best suits a vehicle to maximize the outcome.
What material do you use?
We utilize only premium grade stainless steel in all of our CORSA products. This includes not just the pipes and mufflers, but the hangars and clamps as well.
Will I get improved Gas Mileage?
While many of our satisfied customers have noticed significant improvement in Gas mileage, scientific testing has yet to be completed. Driving style has much to do with gas mileage and some of our customers just can't keep their foot off the gas.
What is a Cross-Over Pipe and what does it do?
An XO-crossover pipe allows the exhaust flow from both banks of the engine to mix and balance out which creates improved flow characteristics and a more pleasing exhaust note. It can also help reduce some of the trailing throttle burble characteristic of certain engines. In some cases, the blending of the exhaust can help accelerate the exhaust gases enough to improve the scavenging of the combustion chamber and free up a few extra HP.
What is the difference between and XO-Crossover pipe and an H-Pipe?
An XO-crossover pipe brings the two exhaust pipes together in an "X" shape so there is true cross-over between the pipes. An H-pipe keeps the flow paths separate and simply tries to balance the exhaust gas pressure and flow; these are often referred to as 'balance tubes.' CORSA's crossover pipes are designed to reduce turbulence and blend the air to create the most performance and perfect CORSA sound. Installation
Can I install the CORSA system myself? How long will it take?
Yes, all CORSA systems are designed for ease of installation, but it really depends on the vehicle and your mechanical aptitude. Some vehicles themselves are easier to work on than others, but if you have the right tools, a little patience and you read the full color instructions, just about anyone can do the job. Having a lift to raise the car and a friend to help handle the larger components is highly recommended if you decide to install the system yourself. Typical install times range from 1-2 hours. Do I need to make any modifications to my vehicle to install the product?
Most systems do not require any physical modifications to your vehicle to allow installation. (Check out the full installation instructions for your system on-line for all the specifics.) In many cases, other performance modifications done to the vehicle; i.e. air intakes, programmers, etc. will show additional benefits/gains with the installation of a CORSA Performance exhaust system.
Do I need to update my ECU?
No update to the ECU is needed when installing a CORSA Performance exhaust system; although re-tuning of the ECU using an aftermarket programmer or custom tune may yield even greater HP & Torque gains.
Will I get a check engine light?
No Check Engine Lights or Error Codes are activated by the proper installation or use of a CORSA Performance exhaust system.
Can I weld the system onto my car?
Be aware that welding a Corsa system that is designed to be clamped together will void your Corsa Limited Lifetime Warranty. Welding will also prevent you from making adjustments to the system as it “settles†after a few heat cycles.
Do I need to cut anything to install you system?
In most cases, no, but some of our kits require 1-2 simple cuts to facilitate removal of the old system. Everything is covered in each set of detailed installation instructions, complete with full color photos. Some trucks and SUVs do require cutting of the factory systems to allow for their easy removal from the vehicle.
Will installing your system void my vehicle warranty?
Our systems kits will not void your new car warranty. Your rights are protected under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, 15 USC, 2302. Please call our Customer Service dept (800-486-0999) for more information.
What is the difference between Touring, Sport and Xtreme Sound Levels?
Each sound is designed to offer consumers a choice to find the right sound for them. Visit our SOUNDS page for more detailed information.
What is RSC™ Technology?
RSC™ or Reflective Sound Cancellation™ is our patented technology that uses scientifically proven passive noise cancellation principles to facilitate the elimination of select low frequency sound waves that can cause drone or resonance in vehicles. Visit out TECHNOLOGY page for more information.
What is resonance or drone?
Drone (also known as resonance) is the byproduct of low frequency sound energy generated by your engine exhaust interacting with the body structure of the car. This sound energy generated by the engine and flow noises are amplified by the trunk and cabin cavities at certain rpms, resulting in a low frequency, dull, thrumming sound that can be very annoying. Certain low frequency sounds can even make people sick and nauseous. This is the drone or resonance people refer to when talking about most aftermarket exhaust systems. You will typically not experience this drone when at idle or accelerating hard, but it becomes very apparent at highway cruising speeds.
Where can I hear what it will sound like?
Recorded sounds vary greatly due to the recording equipment, quality and the speakers through which it is played. We have provided a sampling of CORSA Performance Exhaust sounds on our WEBSITE. Many customer recordings can be found on other video sites such as youtube.com or streetfire.net. Our best recommendation is to find a friend or a car club to hear something in person as that will give you the truest CORSA experience.

Carbon Fiber Intake FAQs
Will installing a CORSA Intake void my manufacturer's warranty?
No. According to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act, no manufacturer may void a vehicle warranty as a result of using aftermarket products. Only the warranty on the specific part or consequential parts can be affected by the installation of aftermarket components.
Will an oiled filter harm my MAF sensor?
Filters that receive an appropriate amount of oil will not harm your MAF sensor. When servicing the filter, it is important to use the oil very sparingly. More oil is not better and over oiling can cause problems.
Will installation of a CORSA Intake cause a Check Engine Light (CEL)?
No. All CORSA Intakes are thoroughly tested to ensure they perform within the vehicle parameters and do not cause a check engine light to illuminate. After re-oiling a filter, and once the oil is properly absorbed into the filter, no oil will come off, even under extreme engine conditions.
What warranty does the product carry?
All CORSA carbon fiber intakes carry a 1-Year, Unlimited Mileage Warranty.
Are emissions components affected with the installation of a CORSA Intake?
No. CORSA Intakes are designed to work in conjunction with all factory emissions components.
Can I damage my engine by sucking in water with an intake?
CORSA Intakes are designed for all types of weather conditions. Shapes of the intake systems are optimized to maximize airflow and minimize the transfer of fluids, such as rain water. Water inhalation is not possible unless the entire air inlet is submerged (normally requiring 18 inches or more of water).
How will a CORSA Intake affect my vehicle's fuel economy?
Many customers report an increase in their fuel economy. The harder an engine has to work to draw air through the intake and filter, the more gas is used. CORSA Intakes make it easier for the engine to breathe, which should result in improved mileage. No scientific testing has yet to be completed.
How do I clean the filter?
Cotton gauze pleated filters should be cleaned with Air Intake cleaning kits available at your local auto parts stores.
Where can I get replacement parts?
Selective replacement filters are available from CORSA.
How often does the filter need to be cleaned?
It is recommended to clean the filter on your CORSA Intake at least two times a year. Replacement filters are also available through CORSA. Also, if you experience a sudden decrease in mileage or engine performance, the filter will need to be cleaned.
Do CORSA Intake filters come pre-oiled or do they need to be oiled before using?
Yes, filters come pre-oiled. After cleaning the filter, you will need to re-oil it.
Can I use anything other than a standard Air Intake Cleaning Kit?
It is highly recommended you use intake cleaning kits from your local auto store for best results. Petroleum based products will soften and destroy sealing edges.
Can I get a CORSA Intake for my specific vehicle?
If you do not currently see your vehicle available on the website, fill out the Contact Us form with your request.
How does an intake increase performance?
A vehicles engine is like a pump that takes air in and pushes it out. Factory air intakes are restrictive and limit performance by constraining the engine. To allow for maximum performance, CORSA Intakes allow the engine to breathe at its highest capacity permitted. Maximizing the take in and pump out of air per revolution, CORSA Intakes create more power.
How is the carbon manufactured?
CORSA carbon fiber intakes are manufactured using techniques normally reserved for the aerospace industry. Multiple layers of resin impregnated carbon fabric and proprietary thermal-barrier composite is vacuum bagged and baked for 4 hours in a pressurized autoclave to yield thin, yet exceptionally strong parts. Once removed from the mold, parts then receive multiple coats of UV resistant urethane clear and are polished to a high luster finish.
