CORSA® PERFORMANCE SUPPLIES EXHAUST SYSTEM OF
CHOICE FOR INDY 500 PACE VEHICLE To be featured on 2004 Indy 500 convertible Corvette
BEREA, Ohio - May 25, 2004 - CORSA® Performance has become the
exhaust system supplier of choice for pace vehicles in a number of high-profile racing events around the country, including the upcoming Indianapolis 500, to be held Sunday, May 30th.
"Having our exhaust system on the Indy 500 pace car is great for the international
exposure this race attracts," said Louise Quigley, director, marketing and planning, CORSA Performance. "And since the 2004 Corvette used to start the event is virtually identical to the convertibles
available through local Chevrolet dealerships, it's also a wonderful opportunity to show that CORSA exhaust systems are applicable and available
for purchase by every Corvette owner out there, not just those using their vehicle in a race environment."
The 88th annual Indianapolis 500 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Pace Car will
sport a CORSA Performance Pace Pro System exhaust with 3.5" Pro Series tips. Specifically engineered for the 2004 Corvette, CORSA's GM-licensed
exhaust systems were also featured on the Chevy SSR that paced the 2003 Indy 500 and the C5 Corvette Convertible that started the 1998 race.
In addition to the upcoming Indy 500 fitment, CORSA Performance exhaust systems have been featured on the following Pace vehicles, as specified by GM
Special Vehicles, (the design center responsible for creating these cars and trucks):
- 2004 NASCAR Daytona 500 Pace Corvettes
- 2004 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Monte Carlo Pace Cars
- 2004 IRL Chevy SSR Pace Trucks
- 2003 NASCAR Brickyard 400 Monte Carlo Pace Cars
- 2003 NASCAR Rock and Roll 400 Monte Carlo Pace Cars
- 2003 & 2004 IRL Impala SS Pace Cars
- 2003 & 2004 NASCAR Craftsman Series Chevy Silverado Pace Trucks
- 2000-2002 24-Hours of LeMans Cadillac Seville STS Pace Cars
"Our patented RSC Technology gives the pace vehicle an aggressive,
performance car sound, while remaining quiet enough inside so the driver can communicate clearly with the tower on his radio or to a companion passenger during the pace laps," said Quigley.
CORSA Performance exhaust systems use patented Reflective Sound Cancellation (RSC) technology, which simultaneously enhances a vehicle's
sound while eliminating the annoying cabin resonance found at cruising RPMs. The straight-through, nonrestrictive design of the exhaust systems, which are
specifically tuned for each vehicle, increases exhaust flow and boosts vehicle power.
CORSA's 100% stainless steel cat-back exhausts are specifically tuned to each
vehicle to eliminate passenger cabin resonance and to produce just the right sound. The company offers performance exhaust systems and accessories for
cars, trucks and SUVs. For more information, contact CORSA Performance, 140 Blaze Industrial Parkway, Berea, OH 44017, 800-486-0999, fax 440-891-1868.
