"As many of you know, APEX Motorsports tests every power upgrade for the
Viper using our in-house Dynojet and engine monitoring software. Since Dynojets
are very sensitive to temperature, humidity, and input variables, and the Viper is extremely sensitive as well, we take careful steps to ensure testing conditions are as consistent as possible. We also feel it necessary to test performance components to see if they stand up to their claims for variables like increased power and torque.
Since we install these parts on our customers' Vipers, we need to be able to
tell them what to expect, and there are instances in which manufacturer's claims don't hold water. With our dyno results, we also like to take the average increase numbers by canceling out the highest and
lowest readings, and taking into account average gains, as opposed to peak gains, throughout the entire rpm band.
So, we have had the opportunity to do a 'back-to-back' test on CORSA's
3" exhaust system. This test was performed on a 96 RT/10 (GEN I motor with rear-exit exhaust system). This car was stock except for filters and tubes (a mod that everyone should have), and we performed 7
dyno runs to ensure consistency. We should be completing results for a GENII in the next week.

Looks like to CORSA system performs great!
If interested, you can purchase the system from APEX Motorsports. Call us at 408.562.1000 with any questions.
Thank you.

Finally got it [The CORSA 3-inch exhaust system] on, very nice fit. No cutting or welding required. Looks dynamite. The sound is excellent, very throaty. The Corsa website sound file is actually quite accurate as
to the exhaust note. Resonance is essentially negligible, can't really detect it at this point. Will dyno the car tomorrow and post results. I
would like to thank Paul Santiago, Jim Browning, Sr. and Jr. of Corsa for smoothing out the process - they are a first-class operation and very concerned about the quality of their product.

I have a 98 GTS and just finished installing and driving with my new
Belanger headers, Random Tech high flow cats (3") and CORSA 3" cat-back.
WOW-what a difference from stock! At idle the cam sound is more pronounced
and tends to sound (much louder than stock) like a drag boat or high HP ski
boat. Cruising at a steady speed is relatively quiet maybe more quiet than
stock due to much less drone. The drone at 2500 rpm is gone.
When accelerating, all hell breaks loose and is very loud almost like open
headers. The mufflers are a straight through 3" pipe with no perforation or
fiberglass or anything to restrict flow or quiet sound. There is a slight
gap in the pipe (1/2") that allows the sound cancellation technology to
work. Right now I love the sound; will I grow tired of the decibel level?
Only time will tell.
I have heard other GTSs with only the CORSA cat-back [system] and they
didn't seem anywhere near as loud. Come to think of it, maybe other
header/cat-back systems I've heard are loud too, I'm just used to the stock
sound level, I guess.
Again, when cruising on the freeway or city streets the sound is relatively
quiet and hearing conversation is not a problem. As far as quality of sound,
to my ears this system sounds better than any other Viper system I've heard.
And those tips are even better in person than in the pictures. I put a
hundred-plus miles on the car today and noticed one peculiar thing, a smell
of sulfur especially after jamming the gas down. I remember back in 1975
with the first cats that people complained of sulfur smell, I hope it goes
away, does anyone know anything about this? I will be heading to Apex for
dyno day on the 23rd to discover the amount of increase in power.
