I have a 2019 F150 5.0 and wanted a little more sound to hear that great 5.0 motor. I had a Magnaflow muffler swapped in with the factory exhaust (kept the resonator). I loved the sound of the MF but the drone on the highway was unbearable. Two hours in the truck and I had a headache. I went back to the shop and they swapped in a different MF muffler. It was better but now so quiet I couldn’t hear it any more then stock. Plus, I lost some low end pep. So, I was encouraged to try Corsa/DB performance from some guys on a F150 truck forum.
Getting the old system out was pretty easy... I checked out some YouTube videos and that helped a ton.
The new system went in pretty well, but, I did have a couple of issues. One hanger on the new tail pipe was not quite in the right location, and required bending slightly by me. After some trial and error I finally got it right. But, doing this in my driveway, I was crawling in and out from under the truck many times. The slip joints on the tail pipe and the exhaust tip, were not open enough to “slip” in. It looked like the tailpipe opening was slightly bent or out of round on the opening to the muffler. I had to work it with a couple of different techniques to get them to open up enough to slip on the each other. I had some trouble getting the drain hole lined up on the Corsa muffler. It really is determined by where the hanger was welded on.
When I finally got everything together and snugged up I was pretty pleased with it. I think having a lift or a buddy to help would have been much easier. I was expecting a bit louder sound but was pleasantly surprised with the fairly mild tone on cold start. I drove it up and down the highway at 70mph and where the other droned badly and... zero...zip... zilch on the drone. Opened the windows and drove around and while I liked the Magnafow sound, I also think this DB performance sounds very good and I really like it quite a bit. One other thing to note, this Corsa/DB seemed to have solved the low end pep loss. Now it has the getting off the line pep back! While on the highway it really is just a tick louder then stock, but, when you get on the gas it totally opens up. One word: Perfect. All in all I am happy and you guys that said to try the Corsa/DB were correct. I would give it 5 stars but for the hanger bending and the slip joints issues. I would purchase one again despite these issues. And, maybe next time check the fittings before I put in together under the truck (that is totally my fault).
